Runescape Create Server

How is Runescape, Dofus, and other MMORPG's made?

I have read that Runescape is done by Java. Although the Runescape server is likely to be a .exe application. This would likely be written in C++.

However, I've read it's not possible to run a .Jar (Java project) inside C++ without it being a process (Like CMD)

So how would it be done? I started Java yesterday and managed to run it in CMD but it's just not possible in C++ according to the MSDN forums.

I would not like some 1 line answer, I'd like something more in depth about the games. I'm not interested in creating a browser based game like Runescape, but I am interested in creating a .exe application game.
Guan, I do not want Runescape gold.

If you read that Runescape is done with Java then it's done in Java. There is no reason why the server should use an .exe file only. The game is probably an applet or servlet of the type .class.

Why in the world would you want to run Java inside a C++ application just for kicks (like some sort of encapsulation?). They are both different languages that do things in a completely different way. Of course you can run Java in your C++ browser but that's just another thing.

If you make a command line program in Java or C++ it will run in CMD but the program must be for a command line. But of course if you are going to make a game don't do it for CMD :)

If you want to do server side (browser) games then use Java or javascript. If you want to do Windows games then use C++, and of course you could use Java for a Windows games without the need of a server.
