Hmm. How about cutting and selling Willow logs. Or, even mining clay ores to sell (I know a few players who got rich by this method).
You could always try killing chickens and selling the feathers they drop. This is a very easy way to get money. Considering they drop about 5-15 feathers each when they die. After you get around 5k, go to Runescape World 1 Grand Exchange and say "Selling feathers 10 coins each."
